New regulations for elevator inspection and testing: The State Administration for Market Regulation has issued the “Rules for Supervision, Inspection and Periodic Inspection of Elevators” (TSGT7001-2023) and the “Rules for Self Inspection of Elevators” (TSGT7008-2023), which will enter the comprehensive implementation stage on April 2, 2024. The “Rules for Supervision, Inspection, and Periodic Inspection of Elevators” integrates multiple existing elevator inspection rules and related requirements, clarifying the items, requirements, and methods for various types of elevator supervision, inspection, and periodic inspection. The “Rules for Self Inspection of Elevators” are based on the experience of the pilot reform of elevator inspection and testing, and have solidified the requirements for self inspection work of the user units in the form of safety technical specifications.
2. New regulations for elevator installation: Liu Ming, Director of the Social Development Department of the National Development and Reform Commission, said at a press conference that the installation of elevators in old residential areas can be fully installed. This means that from 2024 onwards, the speed of installing elevators will accelerate by 4.
3. New regulations on elevator safety: The newly revised “Chongqing Elevator Safety Management Measures” will be implemented from March 1, 2024. The measures clarify the principles for determining elevator users, the safety management obligations they undertake, and encourage residential communities to use elevator advertising revenue for elevator maintenance, repair, and purchase elevator safety liability insurance and elevator comprehensive insurance.
4. Adjustment of examination admission conditions for elevator inspection personnel: It is suggested to lower the examination admission conditions for special equipment inspection personnel and allow some installation, maintenance, and quality inspection personnel who are very familiar with special equipment and have been working on the front line for a long time to participate in the examination, in order to increase the supply of inspection personnel.
